💳 Payments & Invoicing
Learn how to configure payment methods, make payments, manage payment terms, download invoices, and handle refunds on the Africa Conglomerate platform.
- Verified account and, for B2B, an approved company
- For sellers: banking details ready for payouts
- At least one confirmed order to pay against
Part 1 — Configure Payment Methods
Open Payment Settings
Navigate to On the side nav if on desktop; hamburger menu on moble) → Finance → Payment Methods (for Sellers / B2B accounts) or Payments → Payment Methods (for buyers / B2C accounts).
Add a Payment Method
Click + Add Payment Method. The platform supports:
- Credit / Debit Card — Visa, Mastercard
- Mobile Money — MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, M-Pesa
- Bank Transfer — direct EFT/SWIFT for large B2B orders
- Net Terms (Invoice) — pay on invoice within agreed credit days (B2B only)
Enter & Verify Method Details
Fill in the required fields for your chosen method (e.g. card number for credit card, phone number for mobile money, account number for bank transfer). The platform sends a small verification transaction or OTP to confirm ownership.
Part 2 — Make a Payment
Navigate to a Pending Payment
Go to Dashboard → Payments. Confirmed orders awaiting payment appear here with their due dates. Click Pay Now on the relevant order.
Select Payment Method & Confirm
Choose from your saved payment methods or add a new one. Review the amount, then click Confirm Payment. For mobile money, you will receive a prompt on your phone to enter your PIN.
Payment Receipt
A payment receipt is shown on screen and emailed to you. The order status updates to Paid and the seller is notified to proceed with fulfilment.
Part 3 — Net Terms (B2B Invoice Payments)
B2B companies with approved credit can purchase on Net Terms — receiving goods now and paying within an agreed credit period (e.g. Net 30, Net 60).
Apply for Net Terms Credit
A company admin submits a credit application under Company → Finance → Apply for Net Terms. Provide your company registration number and any supporting financial documents. Approval typically takes 2–5 business days.
Use Net Terms at Checkout
Once approved, Pay on Invoice (Net Terms) appears as a payment option at checkout. Select it and complete the order. An invoice is automatically generated with the payment due date.
Part 4 — View & Download Invoices
Open the Invoice List
Go to Dashboard → Invoices. All invoices (both issued to you as a buyer and issued by you as a seller) are listed here with their status: Draft, Sent, Paid, or Overdue.
Download an Invoice PDF
Click an invoice to open its detail view. Click Download PDF to save a professionally formatted invoice to your device. The PDF includes your company logo, all line items, tax breakdown, bank details, and payment instructions.
Part 5 — Request a Refund
Open the Order & Request Refund
Navigate to Dashboard → Orders → [Order Number]. If the order is eligible for a refund (e.g. goods not delivered, damaged on arrival), click Request Refund. Select the items, reason, and upload any supporting photos.
Track Refund Status
Your refund request is reviewed by the seller and, if needed, the platform support team. Track the status under Payments → Refunds. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 3–10 business days depending on the payment provider.
Part 6 — How Sellers Get Paid (Payout Setup)
If you sell on a commission plan, the platform collects the buyer's payment and pays you automatically, keeping only the agreed commission. Which payout rail you use depends on your company's country — set in your Company Profile:
- Stripe Connect — for sellers in Stripe-supported countries (e.g. US, UK, EU/EEA, Canada, Australia and others). You complete Stripe Express onboarding once.
- Flutterwave — for sellers in supported African countries that Stripe Connect can't onboard. You complete a short Flutterwave payout setup (bank account or mobile money).
Set Your Company Country
Go to Company Profile and make sure your country is set correctly. This is what decides whether you're paid via Stripe Connect or Flutterwave — the platform never assumes a country for you.
Complete Payout Onboarding
Open Finance → Payout Setup (or follow the "Set up payouts" prompt on your billing overview). You'll be taken to the right flow automatically:
- Stripe countries — you're redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding to add your bank details and identity. Once Stripe confirms, payouts are active.
- Flutterwave countries — choose Bank account (bank code + account number) or Mobile money (network + number), add a contact number, and submit. A payout sub-account is created for you and your sales are split to it automatically.
