📊 Analytics

⏱ 18 min read 📋 10 steps 🎯 Intermediate 👥 B2B Managers & Admins

Use Africa Conglomerate's Analytics suite to measure operational performance — from how fast approvals move and where bottlenecks form, to inventory turnover rates, payment trends, and net revenue. All analytics dashboards are available on Growth and Enterprise plans.

Before you begin
  • Your company account must be approved (see Account Setup)
  • Analytics require a Growth or Enterprise plan — the Analytics section is hidden on Starter plans
  • Meaningful data must exist: approvals, orders, inventory movements, and/or payments

Part 1 — Operational Analytics (Velocity, Performance, Bottlenecks, Value)

The four operational analytics pages live under Analytics in the left navigation. Each page focuses on a different lens for understanding your business health.

1

Velocity — How Fast Are Things Moving?

Go to Analytics → Velocity. This page has two panels:

  • Approval Velocity — a weekly chart covering the last 8 weeks showing the average hours from approval submission to a final decision. A rising line means approvals are slowing down; a flat or falling line indicates your team is processing them faster. The KPI card at the top shows your all-time average in hours.
  • Inventory Turnover — a table of products ranked by turnover ratio (units sold in 30 days ÷ average on-hand stock × 12). A ratio above 12 means you sell through your stock at least monthly. Use this to spot products that are flying off shelves versus those accumulating in the warehouse.

Tip If approval velocity is high (many hours), check the Bottlenecks page to see which specific approvals are causing the delay — it may be a single approver or a specific product category.
2

Performance — How Well Are People & Processes Doing?

Go to Analytics → Performance. Two panels are shown:

  • Approver Efficiency — a table listing each approver with the total number of decisions they have made, their approval rate (% approved vs rejected), and their average decision time in hours. Click a column header to sort by that metric.
  • Stock-Count Accuracy — shows what percentage of your inventory items have been physically counted (have a Last Counted date). Items marked as stale (not counted in over 90 days) are highlighted. Use this to plan your next stocktake cycle.

Bottlenecks — What Is Slow or Stuck?

Go to Analytics → Bottlenecks. Three panels highlight areas requiring your attention:

  • Slow Approvals — approvals still pending beyond a configurable SLA threshold (default 48 hours). Adjust the Approval Hours filter to match your SLA policy. Each row shows the approval, the order it covers, who requested it, and how many hours it has been open.
  • Stock Shortages — inventory items currently at or below their reorder point, or fully out of stock. Use this to trigger procurement before orders are impacted.
  • Stalled Orders — orders that have not progressed in N days (default 7) and are not in a terminal state (completed, cancelled, shipped, delivered). Adjust the Stall Days filter.

Using filters Append query parameters to the URL to share a custom view with your team. For example: ?approval_hours=24&stall_days=3 tightens the SLA window for a high-velocity operation.
4

Value — Where Is the Money?

Go to Analytics → Value. Three panels focus on financial health:

  • High-Value Inventory — your top 20 stock lines by total value (quantity × unit cost). Use this to prioritise insurance coverage, security, and physical count frequency.
  • Payment Trends — a monthly bar chart for the last 12 months, breaking payments into Paid, Failed, and Pending. A growing Paid bar indicates revenue growth; rising Failed bars signal payment method issues.
  • Net Revenue — monthly gross revenue minus refunds, giving you net revenue per month and a running 12-month total at the top.

Part 2 — Approval Analytics

Dedicated approval analytics can be found under Approvals → Analytics in the navigation. These views drill deeper into your approval workflow than the Operational Analytics pages.

5

Approvals Analytics Dashboard

Click Approvals → Analytics. The dashboard gives you a high-level snapshot including total approvals, average decision time, SLA compliance rate, and a priority breakdown chart. Two chart API endpoints power the velocity trend and priority breakdown visualisations.

6

Approver Performance & Bottleneck Analysis

From the Approvals Analytics section you can also access:

  • Velocity Analysis — decision speed trends over time
  • Bottleneck Analysis — SLA breaches and at-risk approvals
  • Approver Performance — per-person decision counts, rates, and average hours
  • Value Analysis — distribution of approval values (small, medium, high-value orders)
Export to CSV Use Approvals → Analytics → Export Data to download a CSV of all approval records for offline analysis in Excel or Google Sheets. This requires a Growth or Enterprise plan.

Part 3 — Payment Analytics

Payment analytics live under Finance → Payment Analytics and focus on payment processing health, provider performance, and mobile money transaction analysis.

7

Payment Analytics Dashboard

Go to Finance → Payment Analytics. The dashboard displays key payment KPIs for a configurable date window (default 30 days):

  • Total Volume — sum of all payment amounts processed
  • Total Transactions — number of payment attempts
  • Success Rate — percentage of transactions that succeeded
  • Average Transaction Value
  • Total Fees — processing fees charged by payment providers
  • Net Revenue — volume minus fees

8

Provider Breakdown

The dashboard includes a Provider Breakdown section listing each payment provider (Stripe, PayPal, Mobile Money, etc.) with their individual transaction counts, success rates, and volumes. Click any provider name to open its Provider Details page for a deeper breakdown including fee analysis.

Failed Payments The Failed section highlights transactions that did not succeed, grouped by failure reason. Common causes include insufficient funds, expired cards, and network timeouts. Use this data to decide whether to offer additional payment methods in your checkout.
9

Mobile Money Analytics

Click Finance → Mobile Money for a dedicated view of mobile money transaction performance. This page shows success and failure rates broken down by mobile money provider (e.g. MTN MoMo, Airtel Money) and failure reason analysis — useful for markets where mobile payments are the primary checkout method.

  • Approval Velocity Chart — 7-day trend of approvals created, approved, and rejected
  • High-Value Approvals — orders over the $10,000 threshold currently pending
  • SLA Status — compliance percentage and overdue approvals
  • Priority Breakdown — pending approvals by priority level
