📦 Catalog Management

⏱ 15 min read 📋 8 steps 🎯 Beginner 👥 B2B Sellers & Admins

Learn how to build and manage your product catalog on Africa Conglomerate — from creating categories and adding products to uploading images, setting pricing tiers, and publishing your listings to buyers.

Before you begin
  • Your company account must be approved (see Account Setup)
  • You must have a B2B account with Seller or Admin role
  • Product images ready (JPG/PNG, recommended 800×800 px, max 5 MB each)

Part 1 — Create a Category

Categories organise your products into logical groups that buyers can browse. You must create at least one category before you can add a product.

1

Navigate to the Catalog Section

From your dashboard, click Catalog in the left navigation panel, then select Categories.

2

Create a New Category

Click + New Category. Fill in the following fields:

  • Name — e.g. "Fresh Produce" or "Office Supplies"
  • Description — a short summary shown to buyers
  • Parent Category — optional, for creating sub-categories
  • Vertical — the industry vertical this category belongs to

Click Save Category when done.

Tip Use broad top-level categories (e.g. "Electronics") with specific sub-categories beneath them (e.g. "Laptops", "Phones") to make browsing easier for buyers.

Part 2 — Add a Product

Products are the individual items buyers can purchase. Each product belongs to a category and can have multiple images, pricing tiers, and stock levels.

3

Open the New Product Form

Go to Catalog → Products → + New Product. You will see a multi-section form for product details.

4

Fill in Product Details

Complete all required fields marked with an asterisk (*):

  • Product Name * — clear, descriptive title
  • SKU * — your internal stock-keeping unit code
  • Category * — select the category you created
  • Description — rich-text description shown to buyers
  • Unit of Measure — e.g. kg, litre, piece, box
  • Minimum Order Quantity — smallest amount a buyer can order

5

Upload Product Images

Scroll to the Images section. Click Upload Images and select one or more photos. The first image uploaded becomes the primary (thumbnail) image shown in search results and the catalog grid.

  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
  • Recommended size: 800 × 800 px (square)
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB per image
  • You can upload up to 10 images per product

6

Set Pricing Tiers

Scroll to the Pricing section. You can set a standard unit price and optionally configure volume pricing tiers — lower prices automatically applied when buyers order larger quantities.

  • Base Price * — price for a single unit
  • Currency — select from supported currencies (USD, UGX, KES, etc.)
  • Tier 1 — e.g. 10–49 units at 5% discount
  • Tier 2 — e.g. 50–199 units at 12% discount
  • Tier 3 — e.g. 200+ units at 20% discount

Note Pricing tiers are only visible to logged-in B2B buyers. Guest visitors and B2C consumers see the base price only.
7

Set Initial Stock Level

In the Inventory section, enter the quantity currently available. This is synced with the Inventory module. You can also set a Low Stock Alert threshold — when stock falls below this number you will receive an email notification.

8

Publish the Product

When all details are complete, click Publish Product to make it visible in the marketplace. You can also click Save as Draft to continue editing before publishing.

Product Published! Your product is now live. Buyers can discover it through search, category browsing, and the featured listings on the homepage.
